Sylvain Weinberger MD Pediatrician

Premier Pediatrics was started in October of 1985 by Dr. Sylvain Weinberger at 326 East 18th Street in a brownstone built by Peter Stuyvesant’s granddaughter in 1856. Dr. Weinberger had spent the previous five years practicing Neonatal Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center while running the NICU. His interest in having longer term relationships with his patients encouraged him to change his Pediatric focus. In 1990 a second office was opened in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

Jon Sarnoff MD Pediatrician

In 2006, Premier Pediatrics had the good fortune of having Dr Jon Sarnoff join the team. He completed his pediatric training at Columbia University and was awarded teacher of the year with honors for 2002. He remained on faculty at Columbia and specialized in student education. He practiced for two years with Emory University in Atlanta before returning to New York.

Dr. Sarnoff sees patients at the Brooklyn and Rockaway locations.

Julie Capiola MD Pediatrician

In 2008, Dr. Julie Capiola joined the practice. She completed her residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital, where she was awarded the prestigious Morris Krosnick, M.D. award. This award is given annually to the senior resident who best exemplifies the qualities of caring, compassion, dedication, and the pediatrician whom you would most like to take care of your own children.

Deena Blanchard MD Pediatrician

In July of 2009, Dr. Deena Blanchard joined Premier, after completing her residency training at Columbia University. There she served as a physician advocate for families as part of the family advisory committee and was awarded physician of the year in 2007. Prior to going to medical school she completed a Masters of Public Health at Temple University.

Aditi Patel MD Pediatrician

In 2013, Dr. Aditi Patel joined Premier Pediatrics. She completed her Pediatric training at New York University and spent time both at NYU Langone Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital. Prior to joining the practice, she practiced in a federally qualified health center in the Bronx serving an inner city population with complex medical-social needs.

Danielle Flanigan MD Pediatrician

In 2016, Dr. Danielle Flanigan joined the team at Premier Pediatrics. She completed her pediatric training at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, NY. There she served as Pediatric Chief Resident and was also the recipient of the “Blue Wig Award” – an award given to the intern with the most compassion, enthusiasm and love of life. After completing her residency and returning to her hometown of NYC, she spent a year at NYU Langone Medical Center working as a Pediatric Hospitalist.

Felicia Tsaur MD Pediatrician

In 2018, Dr. Felicia Tsaur joined the team at Premier Pediatrics. Felicia completed medical school at New York University and her pediatric residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. After her training, she stayed on as faculty at the University of Michigan, practicing in the outpatient pediatric clinics while also teaching medical students and pediatric residents.

Melissa Chan MD Pediatrician

In 2021, Dr. Melissa Chan joined the team at Premier Pediatrics. After working in a research laboratory at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, she completed medical school at Emory University in Atlanta. She then returned to New York City for her pediatric residency at New York Presbyterian – Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Adine Brandes MD Pediatrician

In November 2021, Dr. Adine Brandes joined Premier after over 25 years working in private practice in NYC. Dr. Brandes started her career at Montefiore Medical Center/Einstein College of Medicine where she completed a pediatric residency and a ambulatory/ER fellowship. She became the assistant director of the Pediatric Emergency Room at Mount Sinai Hospital where she stayed for 7 years before branching into private practice. During her time at Mt. Sinai, Dr. Brandes won the prestigious Horace Hodes teaching award. Dr. Brandes continues to be passionate about teaching whether it be parents, children, medical students or residents. Dr. Brandes sees patients at the Manhattan location.
