The IEP vs 504 Plan and Maximizing Your Child’s Educational Services in NYC

A Premier Zoom Workshop with Miriam Nunberg, Esq.

Miriam Nunberg, Esq. is an education lawyer and a fierce advocate for children with disabilities’ right to receive an appropriate public education. For nearly ten years, Miriam has empowered New York City families to obtain the services they deserve. A former attorney for the US Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights and a member of New York Law School’s Education Law and Policy Institute, Miriam has extensive experience with the federal civil rights laws impacting students at all educational levels.

During this session, Miriam will offer a brief primer on a 504 accommodation plan vs an Individual Education Plan and then answer questions from workshop participants. Ultimately, everyone should understand what plan would best serve their child and how to obtain the most robust possible plan. This unique workshop will be both informative, but practical. Participants will be empowered to understand the educational mandate of the city and hold the school system accountable for meeting the needs of their children.
